Hey all my Canadian people!!!
Well I am into my fifth week here as a track 2 intern. I cannot believe how fast time flies!!! I asked the Lord today what He thought of me being an intern for the rest of my life...He didn't seem so keen on the idea. The weather out here is extremely confusing which makes it feel more like home. Possible shorts one day and pull out the snowboarding jacket the next. My dearest roommates from Florida and California have weekly meltdowns which at times end in tears because of how "it feels like they can't breathe it's so cold". I just kindly tell them they may come and visit me in Canada at this time next year :)
This week I was listening to a secular teaching from a woman about the constant dialogue us human's have within our minds. She spoke of the importance of keeping the dialogue positive and encouraging ourselves that we can do anything we put our minds to. My mind quickly started wandering after I realized what she was speaking on and I started to ask Jesus why He created us this way. Now I'm sure all of us properly educated Sunday School people can quickly quote 1 Thessalonians 5:17 "Pray without ceasing" and be done with it.
I started thinking though that this is a huge deal! We as human's were created to constantly have thoughts run through our minds. Now the bible says that John the Baptist was the first man who had the indwelling of the Holy Spirit since the day He was born. Imagine...the first human on the earth with the capability of having constant communion with God. In the Old Testament this was not a possibility. We take this so for granted to the point where many Christian's do not walk in this at all! Beloved you were CREATED to be in CONSTANT COMMUNION with GOD! That's insane! How often do we waste the conversation in our head on judging others or trying to decide what we are going to eat at lunch. The constant conversation in your mind was meant to be holy, sacred and not a conversation simply with yourself. You were meant and created to allow God in on everything your thinking, feeling and deciding. Wrestle with that today. Ask God how you can include Him in on every part of your life through simply communing with His Holy Spirit.
